HIGH
INVOLVEMENT COMPONENT
REWARDS
the extent to which the group receives intrinsic
or extrinsic satisfaction
for having worked successfully together to meet the group’s goals
While we might like to think that individual stakeholders and / or the whole decision - planning group will work cohesively toward their vision goals for the sake of the righteousness of the vision, human nature is human nature.
That means that while you will find individuals or groups altruistic enough to seek the goal for the goal's sake it may also be true that sooner or later the group will overtly or covertly seek validation or reward.
Your organization can define reward materially or psychologically, intrinsic, or extrinsic. Nonetheless the effective High Involvement Shared Planning group will be the better when these reward "opportunities" are identified and established as part of the cultural routine of the organization.
ALC Leaders will
- assess your organization for its recognition of rewards functions,
- identify the extent to which these exist among your stakeholders,
- and make clear, organization - specific recommendations to remediate any weaknesses your organization may have.
